Free Endless Parking:

The Hollywood Casino Columbus features endless FREE parking. The casino also offers valet services for those interested. 

Two Cash Bars – Featuring Simple Times Mixes:

During the event you will have the opportunity to visit one of our TWO cash bars. This year our drinks feature Ohio Made vendor Simple Times Mixes and their locally made drink mixes. Drink specials include Santa Cider (Cranberry apple cider mule), a Spiked Buckeye (Kahlua & cream), and a Merry Mim-OH-Sa (Strawberry lemonade). 

Photos With Santa:

We highly recommend getting your photo with Santa and your finds during the event. In booth 1 on the map, Ohio Made will have a winter wonderland scene where you have the ability to take a selfie or group photo. Make sure to use #ShopOhioMade & #iShoppedOhioMade and tag @OhioMadeEvents in your photos. 

Two Event Entrances:

1.) 21+ Entrance – All guests 21 and older can enter through the main casino entrance and make their way to the event center. All Friday VIP guests must enter through this entrance. 

2.) Guests Under 21 – All guests attending with someone under the age of 21 must enter through the event center entrance located near the COTA Bus stop. 

Guests Under The Age of 21:

Those under the age of 21 are not permitted on the casino floor for any reason and must stay in the event center. As a result, Porta John facilities for those under the age of 21 will be located outside of the events center entrance. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.  

Charity Raffle:

During the event you will have the opportunity to participate in Ohio Made’s Charity Raffle, benefitting Kaleidoscope Youth Center right here in Columbus, Ohio. Each vendor donates one of their high quality handmade items and over the course of the event these items will be raffled off. Winner need not be present, but must pick up their prize by 6:30PM on November 16th. 

Concessions & Restaurants:

During the event the Hollywood Casino will be offering concessions featuring breakfast parties, walking tots & tacos, pizza, as well as other items. The Hollywood Casino Columbus also features several restaurants that are perfect to visit before or after you shop Ohio Made. Restaurants are only available to guest 21 and older.

Meet the Maker: Riverlane Studios

Please join Ohio Made in welcoming Michelle from Riverlane Studios. Michelle was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Michelle has been a working artist her entire career. She has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in digital graphic art and by day, she works in marketing for a local software company. Michelle worked for a local theatre company for several years before returning to the corporate world. Michelle started working with clay in 2015. Michelle currently resides in Columbus with her husband, John, (a theatre artist) and a friendly little cat.

Michelle has always loved working with her hands and taking art classes. She signed up for a ceramics class with a friend for fun in 2015 and once she put her hands in clay, she couldn’t stop. At first she didn’t intend to start a business, but when friends saw some holiday ornaments she made for family on Instagram, they asked asked if they could purchase them. The following fall, Michelle stared taking orders and earned enough to purchase her very own potters’ wheel. From there it just kept growing until it blossomed into Riverlane Studios as we know it today. Michelle loves making custom designs and special gifts for people, experimenting with new techniques and (literally) getting her hands dirty everyday. 

To Michelle, Columbus is an amazing community. She is inspired and humbled by the support she has received and how people react to her art. This support pushes her to grow artistically and as a business owner. Michelle recently reduced her hours at her full-time job in order to spend more time in the studio. This is a huge leap forward, and she is excited to see where it goes from here.

Michelle loves to support this awesome community. She frequently donates pieces for silent auctions and fundraisers that support local causes. This year Riverlane Studios has donated to a local performing arts group, a benefit to fight human trafficking, an animal shelter, local schools and more.

Meet the Maker: Pälish

Please join Ohio Made in welcoming Heather Gray from Pälish to the Ohio Made Holiday Market November 15th & 16th. Heather was born and raised in Ohio. She grew up in the town of Loudonville, now residing near Delaware, OH. Heather loves her fur babies, she has two dogs and two cats. Heather also loves the outdoors, travel, and working out at  both Friendship Fitness in Dublin and Peak Human Performance in Powell. Health and wellness has always been a focal point for Heather, and she absolutely loves that she gets to educate her customers on the importance of natural skincare for healthy skin and overall health and wellness. 

Heather started making natural skincare because everything else she used made her skin breakout. She had hives for months before she realized that what she was putting on her body was actually causing her rashes. With that, she started making her own sugar scrub and face oil. Heather was so satisfied with her products that she decided to start Pälish to share the products with others. She had no idea that less than 2 years later she would be making so many other products that help people and their skin issues. 

Heather loves s o many things about being a small business owner, but her favorite thing has to be the interactions she is able to have with her customers. Make sure to stop buy during the Ohio Made Holiday Market to say hello.

Meet The Maker: Kuddle Bumz

Please join Ohio Made in welcoming Becky Kraynek of Kuddle Bumz Designs. Becky is a mom of 2 teenagers, a bengal cat and a rescue pup. Becky has been sewing for years and believes she has a complete crafty ADHD. Becky started out making pillows, and has branched out into creating lots of functional items from fabric that she loves. She has even started challenging herself to sew her own clothes, while blogging about her journey.

Kuddle Bumz focuses on all sorts of gift items. Kuddle Bumz makes wristlets, name badge holders, hot guy hot pads and accent pillows. Becky loves the freedom to be creative on a whim, creating what she loves. Whether for someone else, or even yourself, you’ll find something you love at Kuddle Bumz

One of the biggest advantages of being a small business owner for Becky is that she can control what she sells and when. Meaning that she is able to adjust her schedule to be mom/taxi/chef to her kids…which she loves most. From Becky’s experience, Ohio has such a great community around shopping handmade goods and she is beyond grateful.

Meet The Maker: Twinzzshop

Please join Ohio Made in welcoming Kelly Zalenski of Twinzzshop. Kelly is the mom of boy/girl twins who will turn eleven in August. Kelly also recently celebrated 15 years married to her husband. Kelly was previously an art teacher for Columbus Public Schools until I had the twins. Now her small business is her creative outlet. Kelly is also a bartender for a local bar/cafe in Reynoldsburg. 

With Twinzzshop, Kelly creates hand-sewn recycled t-shirt appliqués for children’s wear. Her designs celebrate twins, siblings, and all the single babies. Many of her designs celebrate local love or are funny & punny images or beer & food related. 

Kelly was absolutely inspired by her twins when she had their baby (babies) shower. She did not receive anything that was twins specific, so she decided to make her own. She started with milk and cookies and never stopped. 

The best thing about her business is that it allowed her to stay home with the twins, avoiding paying double for daycare. Kelly was able to be involved with their school and be home when they got off the bus. 

To Kelly, Ohio Made has the best vendors. Some vendors have become lifelong friends and have helped her improve her booth look & set up, as well as provide additional business related support and knowledge.

At Twinzzshop, they recycle all thier fabric. They never buy it new. When shipping packages or gifts they only use recycled materials. Kelly also donates to March of Dimes every spring for their March for Babies event. March of Dimes works to prevent premature births and also helps fund research related to premature and NICU babies. This hits close to home with Kelly because the twins spent 5 weeks in the NICU. She believe they owe it to March of Dimes and the incredible hospital NICU staff for the happy, healthy twins we have today.

Meet The Maker: Rustic Apple Art

Please join Ohio Made in welcoming Rustic Apple Art to the Ohio Made Holiday Market. Owner of Rustic Apple Art, Floyd Appleman, was born in Canton, Ohio and now resides in Gahanna, Ohio with his family. He has been running his small license plate business for 5 years and he enjoys the creative process immensely.

Rustic Apple Art focuses on license plate signs and art.  Floyd’s mom was an avid crafter and decorator when he was growing up (and she still is).  At first she decorated their house for every holiday, and has now moved onto a theme for every month. For instance, June features cows for national dairy month.  Floyd’s dad loves cars. Together they attended many car shows over the years. A ’56 Chevy Bel Aire is his dad’s favorite. The combination of Floyd’s hobbies through the years and his parent’s influences helped inspire him to create Rustic Apple Art. He loves the freedom of being a small business owner. 

For Floyd, how he lives his life inspires his designs.  He’s a very positive person and that leads to many license plate signs that have a positive message such as “Dream Big” and “Be Epic.” His love of World War II aviation history has led to plane designs and his love of animals led him to “FIN,” his 6 foot long license plate shark, plus the cardinal–which is his wife’s favorite piece.  The central Ohio community truly embraces local art and he’s proud of Ohio for the support. 

Floyd loves that he’s able to donate his pieces to events that can be shared with the community to support local causes.  High School fundraisers to charity events, he is thankful that he gets to share his creative outlet.

Meet The Maker: Nom Nom Nom

Please join Ohio Make in welcoming Johnna Kredel of Nom Nom Nom to the Ohio Made Holiday Market on November 15th & 16th. Johnna is married and has a 21 year old daughter. Their family has an 8 year old cat and an 11 year old black lab. In 2013, Johnna took a leap of faith, quitting her full-time job to start her small business. It has been beyond rewarding and has allowed her to pursue her passion of making high-quality dog treats. To her, it’s important that her treats can be trusted and safe for pets, all while being affordable to the average pet owner.

Nom Nom Nom focuses on gourmet doggie treats. Johnna started her business right around the time dogs were getting sick from commercial treats. Johnna had an “enough is enough” mentality, and was passionate about making a treat pet owners could trust. At Nom Nom Nom, they hand mix, hand roll, and hand cut every treat. Most of their ingredients come from local farmers, growers and producers. Since Johnna has a Labrador, they assure you their treats are “lab tested & approved.” Nom Nom Nom treats are also tested by the Consumer Protection Laboratory at the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Let’s be honest, the Lab is probably a better judge.  

Johnna loves being able to speak to customers face to face about her product and she love that her business allows her to support other small, local business with Consignment opportunities in her store. 

When you shop Nom Nom Nom, you help them support their family, and you help them support other small businesses.  Nom Nom Nom is thankful to have her daughter assisting with some of their products. When they sell, her daughter is able to save her money and to go to Disney World with her savings. For Johnna, it is incredible to see her daughter count her money and to be able to go to the bank to save it. Without your dedication to shopping Ohio Made, Nom Nom Nom would not be able to do what they love. It also allows them to help charities like The Brockstrong Foundation, Race for the Cure and several local rescues and foster facilities. They love being able to give back.

Another fun fact about Nom Nom Nom is that they have also been featured on Good Day Columbus and have even auditioned to be on Shark Tank back in  2016.

Meet The Maker: Jenci Bags

Please join Ohio Made in welcoming Jennifer Crouch of Jenci Bags to the Ohio Made Holiday Market on November 15th & 16th. Jennifer Couch grew up in a small coastal town in Maine and learned to sew as little girl by watching and helping her mother and grandmother sew items for the family Art and Craft Gallery. Jennifer met her husband while living in NYC. In 2000 they moved to his hometown of Copley, Ohio, to be near his family, with the hopes to start their own.

Now an Akron Ohio resident, with a passion for recycling, what could be better than creating bags and purses from vintage clothing with a moth hole or perhaps an out of style cut? Jennifer also uses upholstery leftovers from her friend’s slipcover shop that were destined for the trash. Jennifer’s focus is on bags and purses. She bases her designs on needs and suggestions from customers. To Jennifer, being a small business helps her spend more time with family, while allowing her to fill the needs of customers and community quickly.

The whole process behind the transformation is amazing. Clothes are gently deconstructed and re-sewn using her own original designs. Pockets are reused and original elements of garments are re-imagined. They feature leather belt straps, silk ties, and antique buttons. To Jennifer, each piece is a puzzle that has a story behind it, and that’s what keeps her going.

To Jennifer, the Ohio Made Holiday Market is the perfect marriage between people looking for one of a kind items and gifts, to the artists who can custom create them. Jennifer is looking forward to participating in an all Ohioan event. She cannot wait to shop from other makers, while supporting our local economy. 

What makes Jenci Bags unique is that they use recycled fabrics from upholstery shops that would otherwise end up in Ohio landfills. Jennifer is able to support our community by re-using those fabrics. Supporting our local economy and environment is extremely important to her.

Meet the Maker: Rustics by Design

Please join Ohio Made in welcoming Meg and Rich Latham of Rustics by Design to the Ohio Made Holiday Market on November 15th & 16th. Together they are the hands and hearts behind Rustics by Design. They have two little boys, Jackson (8) and Luke (3). Like many makers, they started out making signs for friends and family. Meg was working 12 hour shifts every Saturday and Sunday at Nationwide Children’s, where she had worked for the last 15 years. She felt she was missing out on her kids activities and spending time with her family. After a year of working full-time, while juggling a small business, Meg took the plunge and decided to be a maker full-time.  

Rustics by Design initially started out making only wood signs, but quickly expanded to other handmade home decor items, such as their Ohio Wine Racks, Shelves, and Corbels. What they love most about being small business owners is the ability to create one of a kind products, in their home, with their hands, while at the same time teaching their boys the meaning of hard work. For Meg it is truly an amazing feeling when she’s able to deliver a special handwriting sign from someone’s loved one, or a sign with a couples wedding song lyrics. Meg knows these items will be treasured forever, and Rustics by Design takes great pride and honor in being a part of it. 

For Meg, their small business has allowed her to continue to contribute to her household, having the ability to be home raising their boys. By shopping Ohio Made, you give Meg the opportunity to continue to do this. Ohio Made has continued to be their best show year after year.
