Here at Ohio Made, we are dedicated to illustrating the importance of shopping Ohio Made. To do that we will be featuring makers set to attend the Ohio Made Holiday Market on November 15th & 16th. While our events offer free admission to the public, we also offer ticketed times where shoppers can get their shopping done before the event opens to the general public. Our VIP event on Friday features discounts to shop, drink specials, special VIP Raffle, all while getting the earliest access to Shop Ohio Made. Meet the Maker: Rustics by Design

Please join Ohio Made in welcoming Meg and Rich Latham of Rustics by Design to the Ohio Made Holiday Market on November 15th & 16th. Together they are the hands and hearts behind Rustics by Design. They have two little boys, Jackson (8) and Luke (3). Like many makers, they started out making signs for friends and family. Meg was working 12 hour shifts every Saturday and Sunday at Nationwide Children’s, where she had worked for the last 15 years. She felt she was missing out on her kids activities and spending time with her family. After a year of working full-time, while juggling a small business, Meg took the plunge and decided to be a maker full-time.

Rustics by Design initially started out making only wood signs, but quickly expanded to other handmade home decor items, such as their Ohio Wine Racks, Shelves, and Corbels. What they love most about being small business owners is the ability to create one of a kind products, in their home, with their hands, while at the same time teaching their boys the meaning of hard work. For Meg it is truly an amazing feeling when she’s able to deliver a special handwriting sign from someone’s loved one, or a sign with a couples wedding song lyrics. Meg knows these items will be treasured forever, and Rustics by Design takes great pride and honor in being a part of it.

For Meg, their small business has allowed her to continue to contribute to her household, having the ability to be home raising their boys. By shopping Ohio Made, you give Meg the opportunity to continue to do this. Ohio Made has continued to be their best show year after year.
